Terms of service

Last updated: 17 July 2026

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use the Found in Britain website or buy goods from us as a consumer.

Found in Britain is a trading name of The Collectives Group Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 17005145. Our registered office is 52 Bodrigan Road, Looe, United Kingdom, PL13 1EQ.

We are the retailer and your contract is with The Collectives Group Limited. Independent British makers may store, pack and dispatch goods on our behalf, but they are not the seller to you and we remain responsible for your order and statutory rights.

2. Contacting us

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a contract to place an order. Products subject to an age restriction, including alcohol, may require age verification at checkout and delivery. We may cancel or refuse an age-restricted order if satisfactory verification is not provided.

4. Products and descriptions

We take reasonable care to describe and display products accurately. Handmade, natural and small-batch goods may have minor variations in colour, finish, dimensions or appearance. These variations are not faults where they are consistent with the description and nature of the product.

Product images are illustrative and screen settings may affect colour. Packaging may change without affecting the product.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are shown before you place the order.

We may correct an obvious pricing or description error before accepting an order. If we cannot accept an order after payment has been authorised or taken, we will cancel it and refund the amount due.

Payments are handled through Shopify and the payment methods displayed at checkout.

6. How the contract is formed

When you submit an order, you make an offer to buy the goods. The automatic order acknowledgement confirms receipt but does not itself mean that we have accepted the order.

A contract for each item is formed when we send confirmation that the item has been accepted for fulfilment or dispatched. Where an order contains goods from different makers, acceptance and dispatch may occur separately for each item.

We may decline or cancel an order where goods are unavailable, payment cannot be authorised, a restriction applies, there is an obvious error, fraud is suspected or we cannot deliver to the address supplied.

7. Delivery

Goods are dispatched by independent makers from their own UK premises. A multi-maker order may arrive in separate packages and at different times.

Estimated dispatch and delivery information is shown on product pages or at checkout. Unless a different time is agreed, we will deliver without undue delay and within 30 days after the contract is formed.

Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or a person you nominate. Ownership passes when we receive payment in full.

See our Shipping Policy for more information.

8. Cancellation, returns and refunds

For most online purchases, you may cancel by telling us within 14 days after the day you receive the goods. After notifying us, you normally have another 14 days to send them back.

Some goods, including personalised, perishable and certain unsealed hygiene goods, are excluded from the change-of-mind right. Full conditions, refund timing, return costs and the model cancellation form are in our Returns and Refunds Policy.

9. Faulty goods

We are under a legal duty to supply goods that conform to the contract. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Your rights may include rejection for a refund, repair, replacement, price reduction or final refund depending on the circumstances.

Contact support@collectivesgroup.co.uk. We will not require you to deal directly with the maker to exercise your statutory rights.

10. Alcohol and other restricted products

You must be 18 or over to purchase alcohol. Age verification may be required before fulfilment and on delivery. The courier may refuse delivery if an adult cannot provide acceptable identification. Alcohol must not be bought for anyone under 18.

See our Alcohol and Age Verification Policy for the applicable ordering, identification and delivery conditions.

Other products may be subject to legal, safety or delivery restrictions stated on the product page.

11. Gift cards and promotions

Gift cards and promotional offers are subject to any specific terms shown when issued. Nothing in those terms removes statutory rights. Promotions cannot be combined unless we say otherwise and may be withdrawn before an order is accepted.

See our Gift Card Terms for redemption, expiry, refunds, lost codes and related conditions.

12. Reviews and user content

If you submit a review, photograph or other content, you confirm that it is truthful, lawful, your own or properly licensed, and does not infringe another person's rights. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and adapt that content for operating and promoting Found in Britain.

We may moderate or remove content that is unlawful, misleading, abusive, irrelevant or otherwise breaches these terms. We do not promise to publish every submission.

Our Reviews and User Content Policy explains how reviews are collected, checked, moderated and displayed.

13. Intellectual property

The Found in Britain branding, website design and content belong to us or our licensors. Maker names, product imagery and other material may belong to the relevant maker. You may use the site for personal, non-commercial shopping only and must not copy, scrape, reproduce or exploit content without permission.

14. Our responsibility to you

We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses where you bought as a consumer.

Nothing in this section affects remedies available under consumer law.

15. Events outside our reasonable control

We are not responsible for delay caused by an event outside our reasonable control. We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect, keep you informed and provide any cancellation right required by law.

16. Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information. Our Cookies Policy explains the technologies used on the site and how to manage your choices.

17. Complaints

Contact support@collectivesgroup.co.uk or use our Contact page. Please include your order number, what went wrong and the outcome you are seeking.

We aim to acknowledge a complaint within two working days and provide a substantive response within 14 days. If we need longer because the issue is complex or involves a maker, carrier or payment provider, we will explain the reason and keep you updated.

If we cannot resolve the complaint, we will provide our final response. Where an alternative dispute resolution or other complaint-resolution arrangement is available and we are required by law or contract to participate in it, we will tell you about that arrangement and how to access it when communicating the outcome of your complaint.

We are not currently committed to a particular ADR scheme for ordinary retail disputes. This does not restrict your statutory rights, your ability to seek independent consumer advice or your right to bring a claim in the appropriate court.

18. Changes and severability

The terms in force when your order is accepted will apply to that purchase. We may update these website terms for future use. If a court finds one part invalid, the remaining terms continue to apply.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory protections and may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable consumer law.
