Alcohol and Age Verification Policy

Last updated: 17 July 2026

This policy applies to alcohol offered through Found in Britain. Found in Britain is a trading name of The Collectives Group Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 17005145.

1. Adults only

You must be at least 18 years old to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol for, or arrange delivery to, anyone under 18.

By ordering alcohol, you confirm that the purchaser and intended recipient are at least 18 and that the information supplied for age verification is accurate.

2. Licensed sale and fulfilment

Alcohol may be offered only where its sale, selection, dispatch and delivery are covered by the applicable premises licence, permitted hours and licence conditions. Independent suppliers fulfilling alcohol orders on our behalf must dispatch from the relevant licensed premises and follow their operational age-verification policy.

Found in Britain remains the retailer and customer point of contact. The use of an independent licensed supplier does not require the customer to resolve an order problem directly with that supplier.

3. Age checks

Age or identity checks may be carried out when you order, before dispatch and at delivery. An order may be held, refused or cancelled where satisfactory verification is not provided.

We apply a Challenge 25 approach. A person who appears to be under 25 should expect to provide acceptable photographic identification proving that they are at least 18.

4. Acceptable identification

Acceptable identification will normally be an original, valid document showing a photograph and date of birth, such as:

  • a passport;
  • a photocard driving licence; or
  • a proof-of-age card bearing the PASS hologram.

The carrier or licensed premises may accept another form of identification permitted by its licence conditions. Copies, screenshots or expired documents may be refused.

5. Delivery

Alcohol must be handed to an adult who can provide identification when requested. It will not be left unattended, in a nominated safe place, or with a person who cannot pass the required check.

A multi-maker order may arrive in separate packages. Each delivery containing alcohol may require a separate age check.

Delivery may also be refused where the recipient appears intoxicated, behaves threateningly, or the courier reasonably suspects a proxy purchase for a person under 18.

6. Failed delivery or refusal

If alcohol cannot lawfully be handed over, it will be returned to the fulfilling premises. We will explain whether redelivery is available.

Where failure resulted from the purchaser or recipient not meeting the clearly stated age-verification conditions, we may deduct direct delivery or return costs actually incurred where this is lawful and was made clear before purchase. Statutory rights are not affected.

7. Returns, cancellations and product problems

Our Returns and Refunds Policy applies. If you wish to cancel, do not open or consume the product and contact us promptly.

If alcohol is damaged, incorrect, unsafe or not as described, contact support@collectivesgroup.co.uk. Nothing in this policy limits rights under consumer law.

8. Supplier and carrier responsibilities

Suppliers and carriers involved in alcohol fulfilment must be informed of the applicable licence conditions, age-verification process, permitted delivery procedure and escalation route. They must not complete a delivery that would breach the law or the relevant licence.
