Reviews and User Content Policy
Last updated: 17 July 2026
This policy explains how Found in Britain collects, checks, moderates and displays customer reviews, ratings, photographs, questions and other user-submitted content.
Found in Britain is a trading name of The Collectives Group Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 17005145.
1. Our principles
Reviews should help customers make informed decisions. We aim to publish genuine, relevant and lawful reviews whether they are positive, neutral or negative. We do not commission fake reviews, hide genuine criticism merely because it is unfavourable, or require a positive review in exchange for resolving a complaint.
2. Who may submit content
You should submit a review only where it reflects your genuine experience of the relevant product, order or service. You must not impersonate another person or submit content on behalf of someone else without authority.
A label such as “verified purchase” will be used only where our records or the review platform provide a reasonable basis for that label. The absence of a verification label does not necessarily mean that a review is false.
3. Fake, misleading and incentivised reviews
You must not submit, arrange or encourage:
- a fabricated review or rating;
- a review that does not reflect a genuine experience;
- multiple reviews intended to distort a rating;
- a review submitted by someone with an undisclosed personal or commercial interest;
- content copied from another person; or
- an incentivised review where the incentive is concealed.
If we offer an incentive for feedback, it will not depend on the review being positive and the incentive will be disclosed clearly wherever the review is displayed.
4. Content standards
Submitted content must be relevant, honest and lawful. It must not contain:
- threats, harassment, hate speech, abuse or discriminatory content;
- obscene or sexually explicit material;
- personal information about another person;
- defamatory allegations presented without a reasonable basis;
- spam, advertising, affiliate links or unrelated promotions;
- malware, malicious code or deceptive links;
- content that infringes copyright, trade marks, privacy or other rights; or
- content about a different product, business or transaction.
5. How moderation works
Reviews may be checked automatically and manually by us or our review-service provider. Checks may consider order information, submission patterns, duplicated text, suspicious activity, prohibited language and reports from customers or suppliers.
We may delay, reject or remove content where we reasonably believe it is fake, misleading, unlawful, irrelevant or contrary to this policy. We do not remove genuine negative reviews simply because they criticise us, a maker or a product.
We will not alter the meaning or sentiment of a review. We may remove personal information or ask the reviewer to resubmit content where a limited correction would make it suitable for publication.
6. Timing and rating calculations
Moderation and technical checks can delay publication. Aggregate ratings should reflect the genuine reviews included in the calculation and should not be manipulated by selectively excluding unfavourable feedback.
7. Makers and commercial relationships
Found in Britain is the retailer. Products may be made and dispatched by independent makers with whom we have a commercial relationship. Maker-supplied testimonials, gifted-product content or other commercial material will be identified where needed so that customers can distinguish it from independent customer feedback.
8. Your content and licence
You retain ownership of content you create. By submitting it, you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it and grant The Collectives Group Limited a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format and display it for operating and promoting Found in Britain and the reviewed product.
This licence does not permit us to misrepresent your opinion. You may ask us to remove content you submitted, although we may retain information required for legal, fraud-prevention or record-keeping purposes.
9. Reviews are not complaints
A review is intended for publication and does not automatically open a customer-service case. If you need a remedy for an order, faulty product, delivery or safety issue, contact support@collectivesgroup.co.uk or use our Contact page. Making a complaint does not prevent you from leaving an honest review.
10. Reporting and challenging a decision
To report a review that may breach this policy, or to ask us to reconsider a moderation decision, email support@collectivesgroup.co.uk with the product, review and reason for your concern. We may ask for information reasonably needed to investigate.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use reviewer names, contact details, order information, content and technical information. Do not include sensitive or unnecessary personal information in a public review.
