Venison is another novel protein — lower in saturated fat than beef, rarely used in commercial pet food, which means most dogs arrive at it without prior exposure. At 38.5% crude protein and 31.8% crude fat, venison sits in the mid-range of the training treat lineup — enough energy density to be useful in active training without being the heaviest option in the bag.
