Thor Goes Fishing
Thor goes fishing with the giant, Hymir. Using the head of one of the giant's bulls as bait, he hooks the Jormungander, the world serpent. The struggle between the god and the serpent nearly wrecks the boat, until Hymir panics and cuts the fishing line.
The runes on this design read: Egndi á öngul, sá er öldum bergr, orms einbani uxa höfði; gein við agni, sú er goð fía, umgjörð neðan allra landa.
This is the stanza of Hymiskviða, in the Poetic Edda, that translates as - "He baited the hook, he who saves mankind, sole slayer of the dragon, with the ox's head; he whom the gods loathe, the encircler in the depths of all the lands, gaped to take the bait.
