Why We Love This Product

Our specialty decaf coffee delivers full flavour without compromise. Smooth, sweet and clean, it’s ideal for espresso, cafetière and V60 brewing at home. Carefully processed to retain character while removing caffeine.

Nestled in the southwestern corner of Antioquia, high in Colombia’s Western Andes, Jardín is one of the country’s most distinctive coffee-growing regions. Sitting between 1,700 and 2,100 metres above sea level, the area’s elevation encourages slow cherry maturation, developing layered sweetness alongside a refined, elegant acidity. Volcanic soils rich in organic matter, combined with evenly distributed rainfall, create ideal growing conditions and allow for two harvests each year.

Coffee production in Jardín is rooted in small and medium-scale family farms, where generations of knowledge guide responsible agricultural practices and consistent quality. The region’s steep terrain and shifting elevations create a patchwork of microclimates, producing expressive micro-lots that are highly sought after for their clarity and individuality.

Since May 2022, Helvetia has operated a dedicated purchase point in Jardín, providing producers with a direct route to market following the closure of the Andes cooperative. By reducing intermediaries, Helvetia focuses on adding value at origin and building long-term relationships grounded in transparency, quality, and shared growth.

From Jardín, Helvetia also leads certification and sustainability initiatives that support the region’s social, environmental, and economic development. Their close collaboration with farmers allows Jardín’s full coffee potential to be carefully identified and matched to the expectations of the most demanding specialty markets.

ATUNKAA DECAF

This coffee is decaffeinated at Descafecol using the Sugar Cane process, a method that preserves flavour while gently removing caffeine. Each batch is processed independently to maintain full traceability and ensure the highest quality, resulting in a decaf that retains sweetness, balance, and character in the cup.
