David Perry Glass & Ceramics is a one-person Cornish studio making kiln-fused glass homeware by hand in Penryn. David hand-cuts each piece of coloured art glass and fuses it into precise chequered and striped patterns, turning coasters, trays and trinket dishes into bright, tactile pieces for the table and home.
David Perry taught himself fused glass after a long career in IT, drawn to the precision of cutting and arranging coloured glass by hand. He built a dedicated home glass workshop in 2019 and has since added a pottery studio, working from his base in Penryn, Cornwall.
His signature is accuracy: each square of Bullseye or Oceanside art glass is hand-cut to line up as exactly as possible before firing, which is what gives the chequered and striped ranges their crisp, geometric look. Colour pairings are chosen deliberately for how they sit together once fused.
